We missed out on the Pretentious name thing, when the rest of the world was finding random collections of letters to name their children, we went traditional and safe, and in doing so identified the “Pretentious Name Spectrum”. It’s relatively self explanatory – William, Henry, George, Mary, Victoria, Alice  (and all the Kings/ Queens) hold the high ground of one end of the spectrum and Vanilla, Peach-plum, Dingle Berry and ZZep%$pheb hold the lower ground at the other end.

If you are unsure of what I am talking about, then it’s extremely likely your child is called Felucunia and you think it’s normal. Maybe after so long scoffing at the adventurous end of the spectrum, and with a new car that needs a name perhaps I need to roll my sleeves up and dive into the pretentious zone….

So I created a shortlist (Agatha, Ventura, Petunia, Spelsbury) and then I discussed them at length with Archie and Jack and have settled neatly on – Ventura.

Ventura – in Portugese meaning Fortune or Happiness (…and it cost a fortune but makes me happy)

So there it is, Ventura is The Adventure Truck’s name and a whole new world of content awaits.
